Nerve pain & neurological diseases

treating with TCM

Nerve pain (neuropathies) occurs when nerves are damaged due to injuries, inflammation, or diseases. It often presents as stabbing, burning, or electric shock-like pain and may be accompanied by numbness, tingling, or sensory disturbances. This type of pain is commonly seen in conditions such as diabetes, shingles, or nerve injuries resulting from accidents.

Neurological disorders affect the nervous system and can cause a wide range of symptoms. The most common include migraine, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease, and epilepsy. These conditions affect the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, leading to disturbances in motor coordination, perception, or cognitive functions.

The causes of nerve pain and neurological diseases are diverse and may be genetic, triggered by infections, inflammation, metabolic disorders, or environmental factors. Stress, sleep disorders, or an unhealthy lifestyle can worsen symptoms or increase the risk of such conditions.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), nerves are regarded as a type of tendon responsible for movement. Tendons are considered normal or abnormal thread-like structures in the body, and in ancient times, even vein vessels were thought of as thread-like. TCM associates neurological disorders with the liver and meridian functions. Disruptions in these systems can lead to conditions such as neuralgia or peripheral neuropathy.

At our clinic, we offer targeted treatments using acupuncture to stimulate nerve conduction, along with a combination of cupping therapy and Chinese herbal medicine to relieve symptoms and stabilize the nervous system.

We would be happy to advise you on your individual symptoms and the possible therapies.
